Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine
The ISU College of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1879 as the country’s first public veterinary school and has graduated more than 7,500 veterinarians. It is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and has a strong research program focused on control of infectious diseases, vaccine and diagnostic development. The College has strong research and teaching programs in basic biomedical sciences, strong outreach programs in companion animal and equine medicine and surgery, and a comprehensive veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine program.
