About

A message from our Director:

We are so grateful that people choose to support our work at the Center for Food Security and Public Health. Today, I ask you to reflect on the number of times you have visited our site and the value you received from it. When I started the CFSPH in 2001, I set out to increase national and international preparedness for accidental or intentional introduction of diseases that threaten food production or public health and since then, we’ve continued to deliver on that mission, providing access to current, comprehensive, and accurate materials on animal diseases, prevention, and preparedness and response.

The CFSPH operates totally on grants, contracts, and donations, with no base support from federal or state agencies, and offers most of our content free of charge, with no advertising, no subscription fees, and no paywalls. If CFSPH has been useful to you, we would greatly appreciate your support. Thank you for your generosity!

Sincerely,
Dr. Jim Roth
