Description:
Pig, skeletal muscle (shoulder). Shoulder musculature contains numerous cysticerci (Cysticercus cellulosae, larval form of Taenia solium). Each cyst contains a single inverted scolex.

Description:
Bovine, skeletal muscle and heart. Both heart and skeletal muscle contain low numbers of cysticerci. (Cysticercus bovis, larval form of Taenia saginata). Cysticerci have undergone necrosis and mineralization, and consist of discrete collections of amorphous, friable material.
