Lead Public Health Veterinarian (Collaborator)
Dr. Renée Dewell is a collaborating veterinarian in the Center for Food Security and Public Health (CFSPH) and an affiliate faculty member in the Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine Department (VDPAM) at Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. While at the Great Plains Veterinary Education Center, Dr. Dewell completed an internship, a certificate in Beef Cattle Production Management and earned a Master’s degree in Veterinary Science (epidemiology) from the University of Nebraska. She has operated a mobile practice, worked as a clinical instructor, and completed a post-doc (Colorado State University). Renée serves in various capacities in the AVC, AABP, IVMA, and AVMA and is a member of the National Veterinary Response Team.
